Igor Goncharenko, Professor

( Since Apr 1, 2026, he is a Specially Appointed Professor, College of Information Science and Engineering, Ritsumeikan)

Igor Goncharenko received his MS in Control Systems from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and PhD in Computer Science from the Russian Academy of Science. Before moving to Japan, he has worked as a researcher at the Institute of Automation and Control Processes, Vladivostok, Russia. In 1995, he joined the Mechanical Engineering Lab, AIST, Tsukuba, Japan, and then he has been an Associate Professor at the Department of Precision Machinery Engineering, the University of Tokyo. Before joining Ritsumeikan University, he worked as a Chief Researcher at 3D Inc. - DENSO Group, Yokohama. His current research interests are in the fields of human motion analysis, digital human modelling, and using sensor data for human-centered research.

Yanlei Gu, Lecturer

( Presently, he is an Associate Professor at Hiroshima University )

Yanlei Gu received his Ph.D. from Nagoya University. He has been a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Tokyo and a lecturer at Ritsumeikan University. He became an associate professor at Hiroshima University in 2024. His research interests include Autonomous Driving, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Machine Learning, Image Processing, and Data Mining.

Wenbin Liu, Assistant Professor

Wenbin Liu received his bachelor's degree from Harbin Institute of Technology, China, his master's degree from the University of Miyazaki, Japan, and his doctoral degree from Kyushu University, Japan. He joined the College of Information Science and Engineering, Ritsumeikan University, in September 2023. He is currently a member of IEEE, JSME, and RSJ. His main research interests include human-computer interaction, assistive robotics, and multi-agent control..
